In December 2015, the Nigerian military unleashed attacks on the residence of Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) during the Zaria massacre. Several years after the incident, many of the victims continue to live with deformities and pain as they try to recover.
