Gunmen Intercept Commercial Bus, Abduct Passengers In Katsina

An armed group in security uniforms Tuesday evening ambushed a commercial bus and abducted an undisclosed number of passengers along Shimfida, Gurbin Baure road in Jibia Local Government of Katsina State, Northwest, Nigeria.

Sources available to HumAngle said the group operated as security operatives at a checkpoint in both military and police uniform.

A commuter, who identified himself as Aminu Jibia, said “ the group mounted a checkpoint on the road and abducted all the passengers in the commercial bus”

As of the time of writing this report, there were no exact figures of the passengers kidnapped.

Police in Katsina were yet to confirm the incident. Jibia Local Government shares a border with the Niger republic.

This came 24 hours after the group invaded Kaigar Malamai in Dan Musa Local Government and abducted a village head and 16 others.
