Terrorists Kill 5 Abductees, Release Some, Hold Others In Kaduna

Over 20 people were kidnapped on Dec. 21, 2021, in Unguwan Gwari community of Sabon Tasha, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna, Northwest Nigeria.

Terrorists have killed at least five persons out of the over 20 persons abducted from Unguwan Gwari, Sabon Tasha Area of Kaduna State, Northwest Nigeria.

The five persons were killed on Christmas eve while their bodies were dumped where they could be found by the community members.

HumAngle also understands that the terrorists killed a retired military personnel, Sunday Agbo, who was among those abducted from Unguwan Gwari. Agbo was killed on Dec. 21, 2021.

Residents told HumAngle that those killed were separated from the other abducted victims.

“They (terrorists) now called us and said that we should come and carry their corpses,” one resident said. “They did that to show how serious they were. At present there are five corpses in the mortuary and relatives of some of those killed are not even aware because they think they are still in captivity.”

HumAngle gathered that the terrorists did not fire indiscriminately, as was their custom, during the operation but abducted people, hid them, and returned.

“In fact, they laid low and were still in the area even when the army came,” a resident disclosed.

One of the deceased, Cletus Okey, 25, is to be buried on Wednesday, Jan. 12 in Benue State, North-central Nigeria. Grace Peter, who was on her way to buy noodles when she was accosted by the terrorists, was buried on Dec. 29, 2021. HumAngle could not confirm the identities of the other three as of the time of this report.

Some of the victims released include 17-year-old Susan Emmanuel, her two sisters and younger brother, Shedrack Dogo, Madam Amos, and Madam Oliver Ogwu, her three children, and several others.

Yohanna Dogo, 69, whose son was among those released, said his family solicited financial support until they raised N820,000 which they paid as ransom for their son in two batches.

At the moment, families of some of those released have vacated their homes and now live in undisclosed locations.

Sabon Tasha part of Kaduna, under Chikun Local Government Area came under repeated terrorist attacks in 2021. Many residents of Unguwan Gwari, Bulus, Oil Village, Gimbiya, Juji and even Kakau Daji village have been killed or kidnapped.
