Terrorists Attack Zamfara Community For Aiding Military Outpost

Terrorists have again stormed Zamfara Community, Northwest Nigeria, kidnapping many residents.

A group of terrorists have abducted and injured an unspecified number of residents in Zamfara State, Northwest Nigeria for assisting a Nigerian military outpost, HumAngle can report.

The attack on the residents happened on Thursday, Dec. 16.

Eyewitnesses told HumAngle that the terrorists launched the  attack between the hours of 12:35 a.m. and 3:20 a.m. West African Time (WAT), on Thursday, in Nasarawa-Burkullu Area Development Council, Bukuyum Local Government Council of the state.

Mukhtar Kilu, a resident of the area, whose wife was among those abducted who shared his experience said, “we were sleeping in our house around 12:30 a.m. but were awakened by the heavy sounds of guns splashing like thunder.”

“About three  sets of the group forced their way into our house. They ransacked almost every part of the house including my apartment where the second group attacked me and my two  wives. They abducted one and one other wife of my elder brother who is nine months pregnant.

“I told the terrorists that my elder brother’s wife is nine months old pregnant. But replied that they will slaughter a goat in case she is put to bed.”

Dandare Gara, 53, also a resident in the area who narrowly escaped being abducted, disclosed  that “my neighbour’s son who is presently an SS 1 student in Government Day Secondary School Nasarawa-Burkullu, is also in the iron hand of the terrorists in this same attack on the community.”

Gara added that, “only God knows how many people have been abducted today. We are still verifying to identify and know the number of people kidnapped. But for now more than 17 people are being abducted.”

Another resident, Muhammadu Sarkin Direbobi, 49, said “my own son, Musa was abducted in today’s incident alongside Naja’atu Dan-Meri and Ibrahim Dan-Meri, our next door neighbours.

“This is in addition to Rafi’atu, two more males and five other females are among the victims of today’s abduction by the Terrorists.”

HumAngle reports that a resident identified as  Kasimu Tolerance, was shot in his knee and was taken to Anka General Hospital for quick treatment.

Sources told HumAngle that the casualty figures may increase as many residents who ran for their lives  were caught by the concentric circles of the terrorists gang, in the process to escape.

The latest attack is sequel to the earlier attack launched by the terrorists on the residents of the area on Thursday, Nov. 25.

Eyewitness said, “the same group of terrorists loyal to Shadari, the notorious terrorists kingpin, invaded Nasarawa-Burkullu community and ransacked eight houses and carted away eight new brand of motorcycle belonging to some young boys who are gold miners.”

Alhaji Muhammadu Dankwazo, a resident of the area, attributed the latest attack to the fact that the community members agreed to serve as the volunteer and masonry with the new military outpost in the area.

A collective community decision which did not go down well with the various terrorists gangs in the area.

This development is what has been the cause and source of worries to the terrorists.

According to Abubakar Muhammad Bukuyum,  “the terrorists attacked Nasarawa Burkullu community and kidnapped about 30 people, not 17.”

He added that this is the seventh attack during a network outage in the local government area.

“Another 25 people of katahwana and ‘yar Gusau communities of Gwashi district of Bukkuyum LGA were kidnapped but released yesterday after the payment of 9 Million ransom,” Abubakar added.

On Thursday, June 17, 2021, terrorists killed scores of residents  of the neighbouring villages of Nasarawa-Burkullu and displaced over 1000 of them.
