Terrorists Attack Batsari Community Again

Terrorists on Sunday evening launched a fresh attack on Kasai community in Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State, forcing the residents to flee into the bush.

A source said the criminals arrived about 4p.m.

A resident of the community, Habib, said “they stormed our farmlands while many of us were busy in the farms; they forced us to leave the farmlands or risk being attacked.

“They shot one person in the mouth, we took him to Batsari Hospital but the doctor referred the victim to Katsina main town because of the seriousness of the injury.”

Yasir, who is familiar with the incident, told HumAngle that the villagers fled their community to Batsari town and arrived around 8p.m., adding, “there is serious panic and tension in the area.”

This is not the first time the terrorists attacked the community.

On June 19, the group surrounded the community with heavy arms and asked the residents to desert their farmlands to avoid being attacked.

The attack occurred three days after the group ambushed security forces in the local government area, killed one person and wounded three others. During the same week, vigilantes killed five members of the criminals in a market place.

Batsari Local Government Area is one of the areas that are being frequently attacked by armed groups despite the recent commitment from the federal and state government to stop incessant killings in the state.
