Nigerian Troops Kill 2 Terrorists In Northwest, Destroy Camps

Two suspected terrorists were killed in Kaduna State, Northwest Nigeria by Troops of the Nigerian Army who also destroyed their camps.

The combined troops of Operation Thunder Strike (OTS) and 1 Division Nigerian Army have destroyed terrorists’ camps and killed two terrorists in Buruku of Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Northwest Nigeria, the state government said.

According to a security update by Samuel Aruwan, the state’s Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, the terrorists engaged the military in a firefight but were overpowered.

Aruwan said several terrorists escaped with life-threatening injuries during the ongoing operations against the terrorists covering five local government areas of Kaduna Central Senatorial District.

“According to the report, the troops conducted search-and-rescue operations around the Buruku forest, precisely in Rima village, Chikun Local Government Area,” he said.


“Contact with bandits was made around Buruku village. A firefight ensued, during which two bandits were neutralised.”

“Several bandit camps were also cleared and destroyed during the operation,” he said.

The commissioner said Nasir El-Rufai, Governor of Kaduna thanked the troops for their consistency and commended them for the successful exercise.

“Further operations will take place in the general area,” he added.
