At least three of the newly inducted ISOTREX Phantom 2 Armoured Personnel Carriers (APC) have either been destroyed or captured in fierce battles between Nigerian troops and insurgents, HumAngle can report.

Nigerian troops conducting a new operation against Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in Alargano -Timbukwu triangle are battling stiff resistance from the group that deploys bomb-laden vehicles, buried improvised explosive devices and gun trucks in an attempt to counter the offensive.

On Jan. 10 one Phantom APC was destroyed during an encounter with troops at Kafa village in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State.
