There is a raid in Zamfara state, Northwest Nigeria, on worshippers in Wuya, in Anka Local Government Area (LGA).
The faithful congregation was at the Zuhr prayers when an armed group invaded the arena subduing and intimidating worshippers with sporadic gunshots.
Wading through the mass of the hapless congregants, the gunmen made their picks, abducting no less than six leaders including the district head, Sarkin Wuya, Alhaji Usman, his son, Manir Saudaunan Wuya, the chief imam, as well as the ward leader of the ruling party in the state, People’s Democratic Party, (PDP).
