BUK Adjusts 2019/2020 Academic Calendar

Management of  Bayero University Kano (BUK) has adjusted the university’s  2019/2020 Academic Calendar.

Students of the university are expected to resume for their various academic programmes January 18.

The Senate of the University had on Monday, January 4 announced the completion of the 2019/2020 academic session due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The school management however has adjusted the academic calendar, according to a memo signed by Fatima Binta Mohammed, the institution’s registrar.


The memo announced January 18, 2021 for the resumption of all academic activities.

It explained that first semester for undergraduates would commence on January 18, 2021 while second semester commences May 3, 2021.

January 18, according to the memo, also marks the commencement of the first semester for postgraduate students, who would have their second semester commencing on June 1, 2021.

The memo conveyed the Senate’s granting of ‘grace’ to postgraduate students who are yet to register for the session to do so before the commencement of the session.
