We Foiled A Coup In Central African Republic – Russian Mercenaries

According to the Russians, this is the 11th coup they have foiled in the country, all allegedly sponsored by France.

Russian mercenaries of the Wagner Security Group who have been helping President Faustin Archange Touadera fight rebel groups in the Central African Republic have said they foiled a coup d’etat against the president last month.

According to the Russians, the coup was to be executed by downing of the plane taking President Touadera to the mini-summit of heads of state of the Great Lakes Region that took place in the Angolan capital, Luanda last month.

The Russians, who have been engaged in a ferocious psychological and diplomatic war to curtail or completely sweep France, the former colonial masters of the Central African Republic, away from the country, have accused France of being behind the attempted take-over.

The Russian mercenaries who were drafted to help in the war against armed groups in the country three years ago have become subjects of resentment by Central African Republic citizens who now see them as exploiters, looters, torturers, and killers because of the atrocities they have been committing in the country.

“Three years after their arrival in our country, the Russians of the Wagner Security Group have become kings of security, mineral resources, and most recently finance,” a political activist who declined to identify himself for fear of reprisals told HumAngle in Bangui on Tuesday.

“They are called experts in finance, experts in security, but in reality, what they are after is money on the backs of the poor citizens of the Central African Republic.”

“In the beginning, there was only one Russian, Mr Valery Zakharov, whom experts of the United Nations considered as a high official of the Wagner company.”

“He was the sole adviser of the head of state. But one year afterwards, there were three Russian advisers to the head of state, namely that for the economy, one on security and one on politics.”

“Now the whole place is full and overflowing with Russians and they no longer concentrate only on what they were hired to do which is fighting the armed groups but they have their fingers on every pie in the country,” the political activist declared.

The Russians say since their arrival in the Central African Republic, they have foiled 11 coup attempts against President Faustin Archange Touadera. They accused the French of being behind all the 11 attempts.
