Troops Arrest 7 Terrorists, 5 Collaborators In Zamfara

Nigerian Defence Headquarters on Tuesday said troops of Operations Hadarin Daji have arrested seven terrorists known by the locals as bandits and five of their collaborators in Zamfara State, Northwest Nigeria.

John Enenche, Coordinator Defence Media Operations on Tuesday stated that the operation was carried out on Monday, noting that the troops also recovered some weapons from the bandits.

Enenche added that the troops successfully trapped some bandits around Magizawa, Kani, Zango, Tabanni and Nasamu villages of Kaoran Namoda Local Government Area of the state.

“The operation was based on security and actionable intelligence on the movement of bandits which led to the arrest of seven suspects,” he said.


“Many of the bandits were killed while several others escaped to the forest with injuries, one magazine with 17 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition was recovered during the operation.”

Enenche further disclosed that troops arrested a suspected criminal logistics supplier while attempting to distribute 20 brand new mops concealed in a Peugeot J5 bus.

According to him, a preliminary investigation has shown that the said logistics was to be delivered to Jibia Local Government Area in Katsina State.

He noted that the arrested terrorists and their collaborators would be handed over to the police for further investigation and prosecution.
