Terrorists Kill 1, Abduct At Least Nine In Zamfara

The attack came one month after terrorists killed at least 2 people and abducted dozens more in the area.

Terrorists have killed a man identified as Salmanu Dari, a cattleman in Kaura Namoda, Zamfara North West Nigeria in a night raid that happened around 12:00 a.m. on Friday, Oct.6.

A resident of Kaura Nomoda, Hassan Sa’id, narrated to HumAngle how the attackers killed one, abducted at least nine and rustled many cattle.

He said the terrorists numbering about 5o came on motorbikes to raid the town, which is at least 57 km away from Gusau, the state’s capital.

“They raided Tsohuwar Kasuwa and Sarkawa areas of the town where they entered three different houses and abducted at least nine people.

“They first entered Alhaji Sabitu’s house, where they took two of his wives, Umma and Zulaihatu alongside his daughter Jamila, who is a medical personnel, then Husaini and Nafisa. In that family alone, they abducted five people.”

In the second house they entered, which was owned by one Rabe Ritu, they kidnapped two of his sons. They further invaded another house belonging to one Alhaji Sahabi where they seized one of his daughters and rustled cows. More cattle were rustled in the area.

Said also says they also went into some Almajiri schools and picked up some students whose exact number is still unknown.

Abduction for ransom and cattle rustling have become a usual occurrence in the region, where people are picked up from their homes and later released after paying ransom.

The terrorists have not called the families of the abductees on the phone to begin the negotiation process.
