On Friday, a terror group attacked communities in Gummi Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

A terror gang on Friday morning, July 2, 2021, on over a hundred motorcycles, carried out attacks on multiple communities in Gummi area of Zamfara State, Northwest Nigeria.

HumAngle learnt that around 7 a.m., the terrorists attacked locals in Barikin Daji, Lonke, Loni, Babban Rafi, Kwado, Marina, and Karaye villages in Gummi Local Government Area of the state.

It was reported that no security operative was present at about 12:25 p.m, more than five hours when the attackers arrived in the affected villages.

Alhaji Bala Bariki, the Marafan Barikin Daji—a local chief, lamented that a previous attack was launched in the area  on June 7.

Bariki said the villagers could not estimate the exact number of people killed, kidnapped, or injured, until after the terrorists left the area, later in the day.

HumAngle had on Thursday July 1, reported a protest by  locals from eleven (11) communities  in Maru Local Government Area demanding for improving security measures.

The protesters blocked a location known as Tashar Abu along the Zamfara-Sokoto highway located about 30 kilometres from the state capital, Gusau.
