Police Confirm Landmine Explosion in Borno, Injuring Security Officers
After an IED exploded in Borno along the Maiduguri - Kano road, security officers were injured and a patrol vehicle damaged.

On the evening of March 11, a police Rapid Response squad (RRS) on routine patrol triggered an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted by suspected terrorists group in Borno state, northeastern Nigeria.
ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, the Borno State Police Command’s public relations officer, confirmed to HumAngle that no lives were lost in the incident, although some officers sustained minor injuries.
However, the police vehicle on patrol was damaged in the explosion.
“Unfortunately yesterday evening, police Rapid Response squad (RRS), while on a routine patrol stepped on an IED planted by suspected Boko Haram terrorists,” ASP Nahum told HumAngle.
He added “No lives were lost, just minor injuries, but the vehicle was damaged.”
The incident happened in Garin Kuturu, a village between Auno and Jakana, roadside communities along Maiduguri – Kano Road.
Following the attack, an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit was deployed to secure the area and scan for additional threats. After an extensive search, authorities confirmed the road was safe for public use.
