Terrorists have been deploying different unsuccessful strategies to attack Abuja-Kaduna train – the only alternative to escape the deadly Abuja-Kaduna highway.

On September 14, the terrorists attacked but couldn’t stop the train. Official sources said it was villagers who threw stones at the train, but passengers claimed otherwise.

In January, the Government deployed additional security at Rigasa after an armed group ambushed and kidnapped Kaduna bound passengers shortly after arriving at the train station from Abuja.

Kaduna is battling insecurity due to activities of armed groups terrorizing travellers and communities in the Northern and Southern Axis of the State.

On November 17, a joint land and air operation targeted a bandit camp along Abuja – Kaduna highway.
