Lawmaker Condemns Killing Of Youths In Kano

Sha’aban Ibrahim Sharada, Chairman, House Committee on National Security and Intelligence and member representing Kano Municipal, has condemned the killing of two youths in Kano State by the police over the weekend.

Sharada made the condemnation on Sunday during a courtesy visit to the Kano State Commissioner of Police, Habu Ahmad Sani, over the killing of two young persons, Abubakar Isah and Ibrahim Suleiman.

He called on the state government and Nigeria Police Force to dissolve the Anti-Daba squad operation in Kano State, Northwest Nigeria.

The Anti-Daba squad was set up by the police command to checkmate thuggery among youths in the state.


Meanwhile, the police have arrested the policeman who allegedly carried out the killings.

The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, who confirmed the arrest, explained that the policeman was under custody for further investigations.

In a related development, President Muhammadu Buhari has commended youths in Kano State for maintaining the peace and orderly conduct during the EndSARS protest.

The Senior Special Assistant on National Social Investment Programme, Isma’il Ahmad, who represented the president at a youth advocacy event at Mumbayya House, Kano on Sunday, said the government was determined to develop the younger generation.

Ahmad said that the Federal Government would invest resources to build a better future for the youth.
