Katsina: 13 Die As Communities Repel Terrorist Attack
Thirteen members of two communities in Katsina State lost their lives on Saturday, following a tough battle with non-religious terrorists, the police said.
The spokesman for the Police Command in Katsina State, Gambo Shehu, who confirmed the incident, however, cautioned the people against engaging the criminals in battles.
Shehu said confronting “bandits holding powerful rifles” was “suicidal”.
The people died in a successful attempt to repel the non-religious terrorists who first invaded Yan-Nasarawa community in Daudawa Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Witnesses said the criminals invaded the commissioner around 2a.m. and began shooting sporadically and as a result the residents began to chase them.
The fight left some residents dead with others injured, the witnesses said.
HumAngle gathered that afterwards, the bandits moved to Matseri, few kilometres away from Sheme, where they killed three and injured seven others.
A resident, Abdrazaq Yahaya, the criminals robbed people of foodstuffs in their homes and shops.
