Kano State primary health care workers have undergone a one-day online training known as “Immunizations Academy,” facilitated by the Boost City.
According to Nabilusi Abubakar Kofar Na’isa, Public Relations Officer, Primary Health Care Management Board (PHCMB) the training was launched on Wednesday to boost the knowledge of the health workers on Immunization protocols to achieve the objectives of the programme.
The one-day training at the Grand Hostel in Kano metropolis had in attendance about 40 Primary Healthcare workers from both state capital and six zonal offices in the state.
Abubakar explained that health workers are expected to learn more about immunisation by watching clips on the immunisation Academy platform.
“The short videos which entail aminated demonstrations on how to conduct some certain activities, such as vaccine management, vaccine delivery and calculation of indicators”.
He said the new approach would be more impactful than the in-class training method as each health worker can learn personally.
Dr Tijjani Hussain, Executive Secretary, Kano State Primary Healthcare Management Board during the virtual training urged the participants to use the opportunities to learn more to have access to new educative materials and also enable the participants to access weekly videos.
“Trainees are to step down knowledge acquired from the training to their colleagues at their various zones for effective delivery of immunisation services”.
