Gunmen Attack Worshippers, Abduct Cleric, Wife In Kaduna

A christian cleric, Emmanuel Egon Bako, and his wife, Cindy Bako, have been abducted by unknown gunmen in Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Northwest Nigeria.

Samuel Aruwan, the State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, said some unidentified gunmen on Saturday attacked the Albarka praying camp along the Afana-Fadan Kagoma-Kwoi road in the Local Government and seized the cleric and his wife.

He said the armed men fired sporadically, hitting a vehicle before abducting Bako, his wife and one Douglas from the camp.

Aruwan added that troops of Nigerian Army arrived at the location and pursued the kidnappers who eventually escaped with the three persons.

“Apostle Bako is the State Chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria,” he said.
