#EndSARS: Defense Minister Calls For Restoration Of Peace

Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, Maj.-Gen. Bashir Salihi Magashi (rtd), has said that the federal government would implement strategies towards restoring peace and unity in the country.

The Minister made the declaration during a stakeholders meeting on Saturday while addressing community leaders on the protest in Kano State.

General Magashi bewailed the security and economic crisis bedevilling the country and promised that the federal government would curtail the loss of lives and properties.

“We encourage the youth to seek justice and make demands through lawful approaches to avoid vandalism that might cause plague to the socio-economic development of the country,” he said.

He, however, added, “President Muhammadu Buhari has received the needs of the End SARS protesters and the government will adopt all mechanisms needed in reaching an agreement.”

The Minister called upon various pressure and ethnic group leaders to educate their young followers.

Both the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and Islamic clerics in the state, who were at the meeting, vowed to contribute towards maintaining and promoting peace in the state.
