Police In Oyo State Re-Arrest Shodipe, Suspected Serial Killer

The Oyo State Police Command has re-arrested Sunday Shodipe, the prime suspect in the serial killings in Akinyele Local Government Area of Oyo State, who escaped from custody 12 days ago.

Olugbenga Fadeyi, Police Public Relations Officer, Oyo State Command, made the disclosure in a telephone interview with HumAngle on Sunday.

Shodipe, after confessing his alleged involvement in some killings in Akinyele, Ibadan, escaped from the police custody on August 11, the police said.

He was, however, re-arrested at his grandma’s place at the Ojoo area of Ibadan, Fadeyi told HumAngle.

The police on Thursday, August 20, placed a price on Shodipe and promised to reward whoever helped in his being re-arrested with N500,000.

The Inspector-General of Police, Mr Mohammed Adamu, a day earlier deployed additional investigative personnel to the Police Command in Oyo State to aid its efforts toward the re-arrest of Shodipe.

The additional deployment comprised detectives from the Intelligence Response Team and the Special Tactical Squad of the Force Intelligence Bureau, Abuja.
