Suspected Phone Snatchers Kill 22-Year-Old Man In Kano
A 22-year-old man identified as Abdussalam Muhammad has been stabbed to death by thieves in Yakasai Qauters of Kano Municipal Area of Kano State, Northwest Nigeria.
Mohammed, popularly known as Amir was killed by suspected phone snatchers around midnight on Friday.
According to his mother, Bilikisu Alhassan Nuhu Yakasai, some hoodlums broke into their house at about 3am.
She disclosed that they broke down the door of the room where Amir was sleeping with his brother, without asking for any information and stabbed him in the abdomen.
Bilikisu added that before stabbing him, they confiscated her cell phone and that of her children, and then went to Amir’s room and assaulted him.
She said after they stabbed him and fled, she took Amir on a motorcycle to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital overnight, where he died.
“I informed my mother-in-law about the incident in my house, after I shouted with prayers and my neighbor came out, they ran after the thieves but they escaped,” she said.
The Kano State Police Command has confirmed the incident through Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, its Public Relations Officer.
Kiyawa said one of the perpetrators had already been arrested.
He said the police would investigate the incident and would ensure that the lives of the people are protected.
