Special Podcast Episode: Revisiting The Mass Graves
Exactly one year ago today, we released our investigation on #NigeriasMassGraves, uncovering the ugly truth behind Nigeria's #missingpersons problem. In commemoration, this podcast episode outlines what has changed so far as a result of the investigation.
Nigeria has a missing persons problem. This is no news. But it is still a profoundly devastating situation. At HumAngle, we measure the human cost of things, the extent of things. For a year, we measured the extent of the missing persons problem through human-interest stories and a missing persons dashboard on our website.
But last year on this day, we published what many have described as a definitive investigation into the missing persons problem in Nigeria’s northeast.

Nigeria is grappling with a significant missing persons problem, particularly in the northeast. HumAngle has dedicated a year to understanding and highlighting this issue through human-interest stories and a detailed missing persons dashboard. This effort culminated in a definitive investigation published a year ago, shedding light on the profound human impact of these disappearances.
The podcast episode, hosted by Salman Adamu and produced by Hauwa Shaffii Nuhu, revisits these findings. With contributions from Multimedia Editor Anthony Asemota and Executive Producer Ahmad Salkida, the episode underscores the importance of ongoing efforts to address and resolve the missing persons crisis in Nigeria.
