#COVID19: HumAngle Launches ‘National Emergency And Needs Delivery Scheme’

The COVID-19 emergency scheme will include a dashboard for information pertaining the virus and where to get help from, when necessary.

HumAngle Media, devoted to reporting insecurity and promoting humanitarian values, is pleased to announce the above initiative as a response to the raging COVID-19 pandemic: “HumAngle National Emergency and Needs Delivery Scheme.”

The project can be followed on Social Media following this hashtag — #COVID19HumAngleEmergency.

We recognise that in a period of emergency, timely, significant information can be a lifesaver.
Accordingly, we are collecting information from all the states and the Federal Capital Territory on the location and status of the COVID-19 emergency response facility.

Having one publication with up-to-date information on the nearest emergency facility to run to irrespective of where you are domiciled in Nigeria, we reckon, is a useful tool for all Nigerians.

Apart from providing a clear guide to Nigerians, the dashboard—up-to-date comprehensive data on a web interactive visualisation page—affords authorities and their development partners a ready assessment of the location of emergency response challenges requiring attention.

The dashboard shall contain:

• Full details of #COVID19 Testing Centre(s) per state.

• Name & location of any quarantine facility in the state.

• The specific essential service(s) available in the testing centre(s).

• Name of the state official in charge of emergency co-ordination.

Aware also that millions of our people across the states are daily wage dependent or altogether jobless and likely to slide into starvation with the looming lockdown, we are further initiating a campaign across states for food donations.

This also necessitates that we swiftly work out a cocktail of partnerships across states to receive, warehouse and distribute from the food banks that shall result.

In effect, HumAngle is initiating *information access for all Nigerians* on emergency response facilities in each state and the Federal Capital Territory.

Secondly, we are reaching out to Nigerians to donate foodstuffs from which food banks can be created in each state and by working with other partners to identify and distribute from the food banks to needy and vulnerable members of our communities.

This is our call to action from our very little corner.
