Buratai Vows To Sustain Fight Against Terrorism

Tukur Buratai, Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff (CAOS) says Nigerian Army will sustain the  ongoing war  against terrorism in the Northeast.

Buratai made the declaration on Wednesday during a courtesy visit to the Emir of Biu, Mustapha Umar Mustapha in his Palace in Biu Local Government Area in Southern Borno State.

He stated that the visit was part of his operational visits to the theater of Operation Lafiya Dole to motivate the troops.

He said the Nigerian Army was mindful and alive to its responsibilities and will keep on to do its best to end insurgency and other related security challenges facing Nigeria.

While commiserating with the people of the Biu Emirate Council over the recent attacks by the Boko Haram terrorists on many communities, the CAOS disclosed that the military had taken suitable steps to address the menace.

He also commended the Emirate for its tireless support to the military and encouraged people to sustain it.

Reacting, the Emir commended the COAS and the Nigerian Army for many developmental projects being launched in Biu Emirate.

Ibrahim Shehu, the Birma of Biu who spoke on behalf of the Emir stated that the establishment of the Army University in Biu had created numerous employment opportunities for the youth.

“We do appreciate your kind gesture to our society and we remain grateful to you and rest assured that we would continue to pray for you,” Shehu added.
