Terrorists Kidnap Zamfara District Head, Party Chieftain After Row Over Motorcycles

A terrorist group has abducted a District Head and a member of his close circle, in a dramatic double kidnapping in Zurmi, Zamfara state.

In the early hours of Friday Oct. 28 armed men stormed the official residence of District Head Alhaji Hashimu, and simultaneously a short distance away, the home of Alhaji Danbalange, an All Progressives Congress party chieftain.

Both men were seized from their homes in Birnin-Tsaba at about 4:30 a.m.

A source from inside one of the families of the kidnapped men, who sought anonymity, told HumAngle “The attack on the two victims was launched by the notorious terrorist leader, Gwaska DanKarami, to accomplish his mission.”

According to the source, “Gwaska called us on the phone and confirmed the abduction of both victims by his gang. This he did on the account that security operatives confiscated his two brand new motorcycles he painstakingly bought.” The source added.

“The Terror kingpin also threatened that since the Government is quite aware of his snatched vehicles, the victims will certainly face his wrath.” Anas Isah Danmadami told HumAngle.

Idris Abdullahi, a relative of both abductees, told HumAngle: “We are making every effort to see to their immediate release, because we started talking with the kingpin for negotiation.”

The Police Public Relations Officer of the Zamfara State Police Command, had not responded to messages seeking comment at the time of publication.
