Gunmen Kidnap Nursing Mother In Jigawa

Unknown gunmen have kidnapped a nursing mother at Gujungu village in Taura Local Government Area of Jigawa State, Northwest Nigeria.

The woman, who sources said is a wife to one Basiru Inusa, was abducted at about 2 am on Saturday when the armed men invaded the village with deadly weapons.

Those who witnessed the incident said the attackers walked straight to Inusa’s compound after creating pandemonium and abducted his wife.

The woman’s name is given as  Habashiyya Basiru. Her baby was left behind.

Abdu Jinjiri, Police spokesperson in Jigawa, said the report of the abduction was received late from the father of the abducted woman.

“It will be difficult to track the perpetrators and also rescue the victim since it was very late when we received the report,”Jinijiri said.

It was reported that the husband has fled  during the attack.

Residents said he has not returned as of the time of filing this report.
